1st Geneva Summit on Sustainable Finance


The University of Geneva, the Geneva Finance Research Institute and Sustainable Finance Geneva are pleased to announce The First Geneva Summit on Sustainable Finance.

The summit will provide a unique opportunity to investment professionals, policy makers, researchers and students to discuss and debate on issues related to sustainable finance. Initiated by the University of Geneva, the event aims at encouraging research on the tension between the predominance of short term thinking and the need for better long term outcomes.

In particular, the summit will try to explore to what extent current frameworks of sustainable development and responsible finance could provide solutions to the predominance of short term thinking in the finance sector.

The summit will host three events that can be followed independently.

  1. A research conference with the presentation of five research papers / 8h30-14h45
  2. Keynote presentations by two world renowned academics and two highly experienced investment professionals / 14h45-18h00
  3. A panel discussion on the topic of “Accounting for the Long Term: Risks and opportunities for asset managers and asset owners.” / 18h00- 20h00
