This year's seminar follows two successful events organised by the Legal & Tax Chapter of the BSCC in 2007 and 2008 on the theme of "Domiciles of Choice" when we looked at the UK, Switzerland and Monaco as alternative countries of residence for HNWIs.
This year we have taken as a theme "Protecting Your Wealth", and the programme will be divided into three sessions:
Protecting the Family FortuneIn this session our three speakers look at the latest developments in their respective jurisdictions (USA, UK and Switzerland) that have an impact on estate and tax planning for a multi-national HNW family.
Can you afford your next divorce?Recent "big money" divorce actions in England highlight the dangers that a matrimonial break-up can pose to the wealth built up by a successful spouse during the course of his or her marriage. Our three speakers look at pre-nuptial agreements, matrimonial regimes and dynastic trusts, some or all of which may afford a measure of protection in their particular jurisdictions against predatory claims in a divorce proceedings.
Safe as Houses? This session will cover investment in prime property in London, the Home Counties and the Mediterranean.
