Dialogue on Global Digital Finance

The Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Office in Geneva are pleased to invite you on 9 October 2020 to the launch of the Dialogue on Global Digital Finance Governance. This is an initiative implemented by UNDP and the UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and supported by the Governments of Kenya and Switzerland to ensure that the future governance of digital finance platforms is inclusive and aligned with the objectives of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

It will be accompanied by the presentation of the Report of the UN Secretary General Digital Finance Task Force from which the Dialogue stems. The virtual event will highlight the report’s findings, which will be brought to life by leaders from the financial, fintech, regulatory and international development communities, including Achim Steiner, Task Force Co-Chair, and UNDP Administrator, and Patrick Njoroge, Kenya Central Bank Governor.

The report sets out an ambitious, practical action agenda to harness opportunities for digital finance to empower people as savers, investors, taxpayers, and entrepreneurs. Building on the work of various actors in the International Geneva, it sets out a call-to-action to businesses and policy-makers, and to those governing finance to do what it takes to deliver on the transformational opportunities for financing sustainable development.
