Annual Report 2025

This activity report provides an overview of the main developments that have taken place in the past twelve months in the areas monitored by the Geneva Financial Center (GFC).

The year 2026 marks the 25th anniversary of the creation of the Geneva Financial Center (GFC), an important milestone that reflects its ongoing commitment to enhancing the prestige and competitiveness of the Geneva financial center.

The GFC has consistently supported the development of a sector that has displayed agility, adaptability and anticipation: three strengths that have enabled Geneva to establish itself as a leading financial center. In a constantly changing environment, these qualities have proved to be more essential than ever in maintaining the stability, attractiveness and innovative capacity of the financial center.

In 2025, the GFC’s activities centered on three priority areas—regulation, access to the European market, and education and training—with three key objectives:

  1. Strengthening attractiveness: stability, proportionality, and competitiveness must guide any new regulation.

  2. Preserving value creation in Switzerland: access to the European market remains a key issue for institutions and jobs.

  3. Fostering excellence: continuing education supports the sector’s transformations, particularly those related to AI.
