Substantial volumes of funding are needed to tackle climate change, and private capital is crucial to supplying them. However, at the moment there are obstacles to large-scale private investment in areas where much of the funding is required.

The workshop aims to discuss these hurdles and solutions with involved stakeholders.

Participants will address 7 challenges :

#1 - Minimum Investment Requirement in Current Investment Programs ('Investment Grade')

#2 - Moving Climate Finance from Opportunistic to Systematic Investments

#3 - Improving Scalability and Repeatability of Investment Opportunities

#4 - Standardization of Investment Vehicles

#5 - Role of Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs)

#6 - Managing Political Risks (Counterparty, Currency, and Country Risks)

#7 - Maximizing the Use of Concessional Money and Managing Moral Hazard

This workshop will be moderated by Olivia Kinghorst, presenter and journalist.

This event takes place during the Building Bridges Action Days 2024.
