Albert Gallatin 250th Anniversary

The 250th anniversary of the birth of Albert Gallatin will be celebrated, with an “Albert Gallatin Jubilee Gala”.
Born in Geneva in 1761, Gallatin emigrated to the United States at the age of 19 and immediately took an interest in politics, joining Thomas Jefferson in his political campaign and becoming a prominent congressman. The Geneva tribute to this remarkable Swiss-American is being chaired by Bénédict de Tscharner, former ambassador and president of the Fondation pour l’histoire des Suisse dans le Monde, and Dr. Daniel Warner, director of the Centre pour la gouvernance internationale at IHEID. The program include a round table chaired by Dr. Warner, followed by a gala dinner at the Pavillon Gallatin.
