The Swiss Bankers Association, the Geneva Financial Center and the China Banking Association are pleased to organize the Third Chinese - Swiss Financial Round Table which will serve as a forum for broadening and deepening political and financial sector relations between Switzerland and China.

Third Chinese-Swiss Financial Round Table

08:30 - 18:00

INIVTATION ONLY

The Round Table brings together high-level representatives from the Chinese and Swiss governments, central banks, and regulators as well as business leaders and professionals from banking and finance for an exchange of views on current financial sector issues. It will also provide a platform for sharing technical expertise and collaboration on research, education and training activities.

The particular aim of this event is to enhance mutual understanding and build trust - core elements of both Chinese culture and Swiss banking. In order to foster dialogue, participation will be limited and the round table format was therefore chosen over a conference format.

The plenary sessions will address the following topics:

  • Switzerland and China: Strong partners in business and finance, introduced by official representatives of Chinese and Swiss Governments
  • Opportunities for the Renminbi in Switzerland and in Europe, introduced by senior executives from banking and stock exchanges.

This will be followed by three panels, where specialists from the financial sector are scheduled to discuss:

  • Renminbi internationalization and wealth management / asset management and implications for regulation and supervision, with keynote address by Thomas Bauer, Chairman of the Board of the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA)
  • Can Swiss-Chinese financial cooperation give a new impetus to commodity trade finance?
  • Essentials for Wealth Management and Asset Management education and training
